DeWitt unveiled the DeWitt Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon Replica model, a timepiece with exceptional technical features entirely conceived and assembled in the Manufacture DeWitt’s workshops.
The new DeWitt Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon Prestige Replica houses the calibre DW 8015 which introduces a patented and extremely ingenious Automatic Sequential Winding (A.S.W) device, driven by a peripheral oscillating rotor.
The DeWitt Mens Replica peripheral oscillating rotor is attached to a ring with a sinusoidal profile on its inner edge. This particular shape activates the A.S.W system (sequential winding) which provides the escapement with a constant and stable flow of energy by enabling the movement, beating at 18,000 vph, to always operate in an ideal functioning range, between 92 and 96% of the main-spring torque.
As you can see in the video below, two little arms, rocking up and down thanks to the rotation of the sinusoidal ring, ensure the winding of the barrel until it reaches 96% of the movement’s full winding, when a lever disengages the pawl from winding the barrel forcing it to continue its movement in the air, without hooking on to the wheel. When the movement reaches 92% of the power reserve, the pawl hooks back on to resume winding the barrel.
The heart of the balance beats to the rhythm of a Straumann Hairspring with Phillips curve. Developed from seven different elements, the alloy used is unbreakable, self-compensating, non-oxidizing and anti-magnetic.
The Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon Prestige combines a fascinating tourbillon, whose carriage looks like suspended in the air, with central dead-beat seconds, a feature which not only facilitates the reading of the time but also outlines the precision level achieved by the oscillating balance.
The open-worked chocolate-brown dial is fitted with rhodium-plated railings and visible screws. The 72-hour power reserve indicator is positioned at 9 o’clock, just below the gold gear-train.
The 46 mm case is made of rose gold and it is adorned with the signature DeWitt imperial columns.
Through the sapphire crystal transparent case back, it is possible to see the signature of the replica watchmaker who assembled the timepiece, inscribed on the movement’s rear bridge, as well as to appreciate the high level of finishing with Circular Côtes de Genève, satin-brushed surfaces, circular graining, and state-of-the-art bevelling.
