Eagle-eyed tennis fans will likely spot the new Replica Richard Mille RM 35-02 on Rafa’s wrist as he seeks a record-breaking 10th title on the clay at Roland-Garros.
This is Richard Mille’s first Nadal replica watch with an automatic calibre in the six years that he’s been working with the brand – and the most colourful (although not quite colourful enough to give the lemon-and-lime RM 59-01 Tourbillon Yohan Blake a run for its money).
It’s built up by layering red resin-treated silicon and natural white quartz fibre, changing the angle of fibre direction by 45° at a time, which is then heated to 120°C under 6 bars of pressure. Look closely at the side of the case and you can see the alternating slices of silicon and carbon fibre.
The new calibre, named the RMAL1, was apparently developed due to high demand from Richard Mille customers for an automatic Nadal calibre. It features the variable geometry rotor used across most of the brand’s replica watches (with the ability to alter how much energy is transmitted to the mainspring with every revolution of the rotor, it is presumably turned to the lowest setting for Rafa).
Its base plate and bridges are wet-sandblasted grade 5 titanium, which has received Titalyt treatment – an electro-plasma oxidation process that increases hardness. The RMAL1 can be seen on both sides, including through a sapphire glass caseback, a first for the Nadal collection.
The skeletonised dial – if you can call it a ‘dial’ as such – bears the legend ‘RM35-02 Rafa’ at 9 o’clock, and the RMAL1 has a 55-hour power reserve.
As with the last Nadal Best Replica Watches Online, the RM 27-02, the RM 35-02 can withstand 5,000 Gs of lateral force (a vast improvement on the 88 Gs that the first Nadal replica watch could take back in 2008), thanks to the way the movement is mounted within the case, as well as the absorbent properties of the unique case materials.
